Information about the ship:The cruise ship "Spirit of the Amazon" preserves the traditional style of the ships from the Amazon. It was exclusively designed to cruise on the Amazon River and its tributaries. Its regional style makes it most comfortable, all the cabins have en-suite bathrooms and a fan for the evening. The social life is divided between the deck, the bar, the diving room, the library and a fanstastic panoramic view. The kitchen is fully equipped and has a large supply of mineral water. Its specially designed bow allows excursions to places that are inaccessible for other ships. The motorized canoes that we carry are useful to go for a rides into the lagoons and flooded jungle. The ship has a VHF Radio with ocean band communication and satellite maps.

5 double cabins with private room and fan. An upper deck with a

Food:
Food ingredients are loaded in Iquitos and sometimes bought on the
way. They are properly frozen and refrigerated. Regional food is
served on board. Water and coffee are always available.

Day 1:
Departure from the hotel at 9.30h. Introduction to the crew. Explanation
of the routes and facilities. A welcome drink. You will immediately depart downstream towards the confluence of the river Napo and Amazon. On your way, you pass beautiful indigenous villages and later, you reach the Island of the Monkeys by motor boat where the island inhabitants introduce you to their responsible project of saving endangered animals.
Day 2:
The day starts with a canoe ride at dawn to observe birds. Afterwards, you visit the village Orellana where
you can watch pink and grey dolphins. Then, you sail to an old-fashioned sugar mill where cane sugar is distilled into cane alcohol or Aquardiente, that is used to prepare regional drinks such as "7 Raices". Finally, you arrive at the Yanayacu River to fish piranhas and other species, and where you will have the time to watch a diverse range of monkeys and birds. In the evening, you undertake a canoe ride
to observe night animals such as the alligator. Breakfast, a packed lunch and dinner included.
Day 3:
In the early morning, you have the possibility to watch birds. On your way to the villages of Indiana and Mazan, you pass by picturesque landscapes. Arrival at Iquitos and transport to the hotel or airport.
